If you’re splitting up or getting a divorce from your partner, family mediation can help you sort out arrangements with your ex or other family members.
Family mediation helps all sorts of people: married and unmarried, parents, grandparents, step-parents, and young people can all take part.
Legal Aid Eligibility
Legal aid is available for family mediation in many cases, particularly where there’s evidence of domestic abuse or you’re on a low income.
If eligible, legal aid can cover the cost of your initial Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM) and further sessions. Evidence of your financial situation and the nature of the dispute is usually required.
